River Shuttles......... Transportation Options

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS:

Trip lengths vary from five to twelve days.  The high water of June flows faster and allows us to cover the same distance in fewer days than our late summer trips.  You can run either river or combine them both for a two hundred mile journey.  You can also choose different travel arrangements for getting to and from the river:

Most of our guests prefer the convenience of our FLIGHT OPTION, which includes air transportation from Boise to the river put-in at the beginning of your trip, and from the take-out back to Boise at the trip’s conclusion. We can arrange this for you for an estimated cost of $400 per person. Due to widely fluctuating fuel costs, this price may be subject to change. The small-plane flight departs Boise at 7:30 am on the day of the launch, and returns you to Boise at approximately 5:30 pm on the day of the take out. We’ll meet you, and return you to, the McCall Air ticket counter inside the main Boise air terminal, near baggage claim. Bus transportation takes you between airstrips and the river. Most hotels have courtesy vans to transport you to and from the airport. Flights from other Idaho cities can be arranged. Please call us for assistance and quotes. To accommodate space and weight constraints, your baggage must be limited to 45 lbs./person and be packed into duffel bags or soft packs; no suitcases, external frame packs, or wheeled luggage.

For guests who are coming from nearby, or simply prefer to drive rather than fly, our DRIVE OPTION allows that flexibility.

Middle Fork guests can meet our bus in Stanley, Idaho at 7:00 am on the morning of the launch, and have their cars shuttled to Salmon, Idaho. Middle Fork guests driving out with their own kayaks or canoes will need to meet us at the Boundary Creek put-in as our shuttle buses cannot carry those on board. This may not be an option for early season (extreme high water) or late summer (low water) Middle Fork trips, which may mandate flights to the Indian Creek put-in, which are not included in your trip price.

Folks running the Main Salmon can hop on our bus at the airport in Salmon, Idaho and have their cars shuttled to McCall, Idaho. Those driving out with their own kayaks or canoes will need to meet us at the Corn Creek put-in, as our shuttle buses cannot carry those on board.

Middle Fork guests can ride our charter bus to the put-in from Stanley, Idaho at 7:00 am on the morning of the launch. On the last day of the trip, our bus will drop guests in Salmon, Idaho around 3:30 pm. Middle Fork guests driving out with their own kayaks or canoes will need to meet us at the Boundary Creek put-in as our shuttle buses cannot carry those on board. Bus transportation to the put-in is not be an option for early season (extreme high water) or late summer (low water) Middle Fork trips launching at Indian Creek, which is accessible only by air. Flights from Stanley to Indian Creek can be arranged for a separate fee.

Folks running the Main Salmon can ride our bus to the put-in from Salmon, Idaho at 9:00 am on the launch day. On the last day of the trip, our bus will drop guests in McCall around 3:30 pm. Those driving out with their own kayaks or canoes will need to meet us at the Corn Creek put-in, as our shuttle buses cannot carry those on board. “Driving to the River; Planning Your Trip without Flights: Drive Option ” – download the pdf file here.
